Family Tradition Sprouts a New Idea

As third generation Blanco landowners, Jill and Doak Hunter founded Texas Lavender Hills Farm & Market based on their love for the land and knowledge of its great potential. While the Hunter family lived and ranched on this 300-acre property for over 65 years, Jill and Doak had a fresh vision for their 27 acre parcel. Inspired by France's Provence region and Blanco's reputation as the new "Lavender Capital of Texas," they blanketed the hillside with lavender plants and sprouted a new company. The hillside provides a sunny, southwest location with excellent drainage that makes it ideal for growing lavender. With its breathtaking 360 degree view of the area including Twin Sisters Peaks, it is also an enchanting destination.

For the Hunter family, Texas Lavender Hills Farm & Market is a labor of love. The couple completed college and worked in the city for a few years before deciding to pursue their true passion by moving back to the land. First, they built a home and sprouted a set of fraternal twins. Now, they're raising their kids along with acres of lavender on the same land their father, grandfather and great-grandfather lived so many years before.

In keeping with their respect for the land and a desire to keep it pure and simple, the Hunters are growing the lavender organically. Currently they are getting the farm organically certified to meet the needs of discerning customers and to ensure product integrity.

Having lived in the fast-paced city setting, the Hunters know it can be hard to find a special place to escape. But now they've created a lovely herb farm atop a sunny hillside just down the road in Blanco. The Hunter family invites you to explore Texas Lavender Hills and share the calm beauty of their land. Make it your unique escape and experience something truly special. You might just find a "budding" new interest!
