New Store Open in Downtown Blanco

Texas Lavender Hills now has a second location to sell our products year round in downtown Blanco at The Vintage Cottage. We have opened a boutique with four other businesses, including Baby Bella, Dancing Bees, Paisley Daisy and Sweet Memories. The store includes boutique baby & children's clothing, gifts, antiques, home décor, jewelry and more.

The downtown location is filled with all the wonderful lavender products you will find online, but offers you the opportunity to come in and smell, sample and test them first hand. We always get an unbelievable response to the terrific lavender aroma when people walk in the door. If you are in area, please come by and see us. Currently, we are open Tuesday - Saturday 10-5, Sunday 11-2 and closed Mondays. For more information about The Vintage Cottage and our store located there, please call 830-833-4709.

Directions to the downtown store: From the stop light off Highway 281 in Blanco, go west on 4th Street. We are in the beautiful historical home on the right (behind the P.E.C. building) less than half a block from the downtown square at 508 4th Street.

Texas Lavender Hills Wedding Site Now Available

Texas Lavender Hills will now be offering their beautiful lavender-wrapped hillside for a wedding site. With 360-degree views for miles of the Texas Hill Country and beautiful, fragrant lavender plants surrounding the hills, our farm offers a perfect natural setting for a wedding. We will only be offering a few exclusive dates for private weddings throughout the summer and fall months. Please call for dates available, rates and to arrange a site visit.

Open to the Public

Due to low bloom production and extreme drought conditions, we have decided to close our farm earlier than expected for the summer season. We hope to open again before the fall, pending rain and bloom status (please check back here or call us). If you are in the area and would still like to schedule a time to come out, please call us at 830-833-5169.

Texas Lavender Hills' products are now available year round in downtown Blanco at The Vintage Cottage at 508 4th Street. Please see below for more information.

Lavender Plants

Currently, there are approximately 4,600 lavender plants growing on the rugged, rocky hillside within our 26 acres, including seven different varieties: Provence, Hidcote, Hidcote Giant, Maillette, Twickle Purple, Grosso and Fred Boutin.

Our farm started in the Fall of 2004, after we planted 1,000 4" Provence lavender plants. On Halloween weekend, our family and closest friends came and helped us plant them all. After planting, we watered them in and never watered them again that first year.

An additional 3,600 lavender plants of various varieties were terraced in a circular pattern around the remaining hillside in Fall 2005. They were a smaller size than the original 4" plants we started with on the 2004 planting, and we planted not knowing that we were going into drought conditions in Texas. Most lavender plants do fine in low water situations, once established, but these small plants were struggling to survive in such stressful conditions. Therefore, we put out drip line irrigation to all of our lavender plants and watered regularly. The majority of the plants has survived and is growing nicely. We are excited about the different varieties planted which will allow for a longer bloom season since many bloom earlier in the summer and at different times than the Provence. In addition, some varieties are more suitable than others for cooking, oil production or fragrant purposes.
